Get Active!

As a little change of scene, we decided to do a fitness post as health is something very important to both of us and D's a little bit of a fitness freak. Since everyone has difference fitness goals, we decided to do a small stretch guide instead of exercises.

No matter what your flexibility level, stretching is always important after a work out to relax the muscles. Progress is always slow, so don't worry if you can't reach very far at first.

Practice all stretches with toes both pointed and flexed. Always continue to push yourself but knowing your limits.
Of course, remember to stretch both sides (arms, legs or whatever you're stretching) equally.

With practice, stretches will become much easier.

Tons of people focus on stretching conventional things like legs and forget that the rest of their bodies are important too! Try putting your arm against a wall and turning away from it to stretch your chest and shoulders.

A bridge (or Backbend) takes practice to improve, be sure to treat your body kindly and not force it. As it becomes easier push your shoulders forward and try to straighten your legs. Eventually there are many modifications that can be made to continue advancing your flexibility

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO ROLL OUT YOUR BACK AFTER

For those of you who want to get their splits:

Go into a lunge position with your back leg on the ground and push forward until you feel the stretch. Remember that your knee should never go past your ankle.
Then reverse the position by having your back leg in a kneeling position and your front leg extended.
When comfortable slide into your splits (remember to always do both legs)

and if you're a show off like D..

A good workout always feels good ... once you're done!
