Shoe Obsession

Ever since I was young, I've always loved shoes and I used to be a little bit shoe obsessed. Seriously, what 13 year old needs over 40 pairs of shoes? I was good for a little while, but it seems like it's coming back! I'm currently in love with all white shoes. I recently picked up two pairs that I can't wait to style!

Unfortunately, the Shelly London box was pretty beat up.

Throwin' it back with the classic Nike Air Force One's. I'm in love with all black outfits and bright white sneakers. Can't wait for the snow to melt to start wearing these! I was lucky enough to stop by kids footlocker the day after they got them in. (I have baby feet so the mens ones would not have been a good scene unless I was trying out for the circus)

I've had my eye on caged sandals like these for some time now. They're Shelly London and I picked these up at Little Burgundy. With a little bit of a platform and vintage feel, I can't wait to sport them and a tan in couple of weeks! I'll be going on a cruise so be sure to check for vacation tips and outfit posts throughout the week of March 9-15th.

DIY Sugar Scrub

I often get told that my hands are very soft. So I decided that I'd show what I do. Of course moisturizing your skin is very important, but I have somewhat dry skin, especially in these winter months. I was first inspired to start making this scrub after a few years ago when I was at a seafood restaurant in the states and in the washroom they had a scrub that you could use. I was shocked to see how soft my hands were. I then found that the restaurant was selling this scrub, but for an extremely expensive price, so I decided that I would just make it.

Sugar scrubs are both very good at exfoliating and moisturizing your skin. Also as a student its a great way to save because you most likely have the ingredients at home.
So here's what I do:

The ingredients needed are simply sugar and coconut oil.

The sugar can be substituted with brown sugar or salt.
To me there is no difference between using brown sugar and white refined sugar because they are both made up of the same compounds. All you need is something grainy that will exfoliate the skin.
The coconut oil can be substituted with olive oil or any other type of oil, its all up to your preference. Essential oils can also be added.

Tools needed are a measuring spoon and a plate or something to mix it in, and also to store it.

So first measure out two parts sugar, or your exfoliant.
Then one part coconut oil.

Then mix them together until you create a paste.

Then you're all done!

To use the scrub simply take it and gently scrub the part of your skin or body that you want scrubbed. Afterwards, rinse of the scrub and pat dry. You should be feeling silky soft now!

(I only made about one days worth)

Everything's in Style, as Long as You Can to Pull it Off

That's pretty much our only guideline to dressing. If you think it looks good, your confidence will be enough to pull it off. Considering so many people follow fashion rules and look at what's trending this season; the most important thing to us is to wear whatever we feel like wearing. It allows a much more organic individuality. Dressing to make yourself happy is the best thing. A person should be able to wear what ever they want without being judged. Just do what you want, and what makes you happy, such as showing some skin or showing none. The more one is inspired and the less one is forced on a thought, the better.

We tried to add a little bit of Valentines Day into our outfits with the fun sunnies.

Taking things to new heights.

Fab Skirts

Nothing lifts our spirits and reminds us that spring is around the corner like skirts. Toronto's been having much colder weather than we're used to, but everyone's hanging in there. Sadly, we're starting to think -25 is an average day. The few days that it has been just under freezing, it was pretty common to be hearing "Wow, it's pretty warm out, it's only -2 today." or even outrageous things such as "Its summer!". We only have about a week until our 'spring break', a.k.a. reading week. So hopefully the weather will be better then.

For the record it there was a snowstorm on this day.
But thankfully since the classes we had are in building connected to PATH (an underground path in Toronto!) So we were never really in the cold.
